Driven to Advance Child Car Safety

Here at Buckle Up With Brutus, we are dedicated to keeping your little Buckeye children safe in the car. We are researchers, engineers, Child Passenger Safety Technicians, mothers and fathers who aim to bring you the most recent and relevant child car safety information for your most precious cargo. Ohio State University researchers are part of the nationally-funded Center for Child Injury Prevention Studies (CChIPS) that examines the causes and mechanisms of injury and translates their findings into commercial applications and public prevention programs. Our main research focus is preventing traffic injuries, which are the leading cause of death for children and young adults.

Child Car Seat Checks
Ensure Proper Installation

Motor vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of death for children. Properly restraining children in the appropriate car seat is one way to ensure that children are safe during transportation in cars. Car safety seats can reduce the risk of death by up to 71%, but this advantage can be reduced if the restraints are not used appropriately.
