Child Safety Laws for International & US-based Rideshare Travel
Traveling comes with a lot to juggle—packing lists, itineraries, and endless tasks on your to-do list. Amid the hustle, safety often gets overlooked. Did you know that research shows many families adjust their travel behaviors when on vacation? Alarmingly, a significant number of passengers skip using seat belts in rideshares or public transport while traveling. Also, child seat laws vary from state to state and country to country. It’s critical to check the laws and regulations of all the destinations and through-points of your trips.
For International Travel: A useful new tool has been developed to help families identify child seat laws and regulations from countries around the world: Skyscanner’s global car seat law map. This interactive tool highlights car seat regulations from countries around the world, helping you ensure your little ones are secure no matter where your adventures take you.
For US Travel in Rideshares: This map outlines the state laws for child safety seats in rideshare vehicles in each of the 50 states in the USA, so that travelers can understand the local legislation that applies to them.
Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean your safety habits should take a break! Proper preparation can help you stay informed and enjoy your trip with peace of mind.
